HOUSTON, TEXAS — Kirksey Architecture has been named the American Institute of Architects (AIA) Houston Chapter's 2021 Firm of the Year. This award is given annually to a Houston architecture firm that has consistently produced distinguished architecture for at least ten years and made significant accomplishments in both the profession and community. This year’s jurors, members of AIA Kansas City, recognized Kirksey for the firm’s action-based approach and commitment to sustainability, mentorship, and community involvement.
Kirksey, which first opened in 1971, celebrates its 50th anniversary this year and previously won the same award in 2002. "Kirksey's role in the Houston A/E/C community is one we're extremely proud of," remarked Kirksey President Wes Good. "We are honored to have served this city for 50 years and to be recognized by AIA Houston for our contributions." With a half-century of experience in architecture, design, interior design, master planning, programming, and projects worldwide, Kirksey is a true, multidisciplinary firm with a diverse portfolio of projects.
